Chapter Seven

“Stop fidgeting.”

I huffed and tried to stop my nervous movements as Gigi put the last coat of mascara on my lashes. The past few hours had been torturous as both she and Constance pounded me with questions. I even had to log into the website and show them both Blake and Davis’ profiles. Both of them had whistled appreciatively and I’d felt a warm glow of pleasure that lasted until I remembered that tomorrow I was supposed to be attending a charity function with Davis. Agreeing to that was the reason why I’d gone shopping that day as it was. My quiet freak out was brought under wraps when I caught a look at myself in the mirror.

“Wow! Gigi…you— “

“I’m amazing, I know,” she joked and flipped her hair. She took a step to the side and Constance moved to my side to see Gigi’s handiwork.

“You did a great job. Remind me to have you do my makeup before any parties.”

Gigi smiled. “Of course. I’ve been thinking of starting my own internet makeup channel to get my skills out there.”

“Well, I’ll be your test model anytime,” I exclaimed standing up straight. I gave her a quick hug, jumping when the buzzer to her apartment intercom sounded. We all had a quick chuckle at my reaction. “God, I’m so nervous.”

“Don’t be,” Constance said with a bright grin. “You look gorgeous and if that kiss was anything to go by, you should have a pretty awesome night.”

“Just don’t get too awesome,” Gigi cut in. “I don’t want to be an auntie anytime soon.”

I laughed and gave her a soft smack on the arm. “The only sex is safe sex, got it.” I walked over to the bed and picked up my clutch. “I’ll text you guys when I get home s—”

“—If you get home you mean.”

I rolled my eyes, but didn’t deny it. The kiss Blake and I shared earlier had gotten my blood pumping, and I ached to see how it would feel to have him inside of me in other ways. When I stepped out of Gigi’s building, I wasn’t expecting to see him standing there with a bouquet of red roses in his hand. It was as if he’d just stepped out of a romance novel and it took my breath away. With legs as wobbly as newborn colt’s, I walked over to him not caring about the dopey smile on my face. Blake was also smiling and didn’t hesitate to pull me into his arms again for a sweet kiss. This one was no less soul shattering as the one before, and I marveled at the amount of chemistry flowing between us.

“Ready for dinner?” He asked, lips brushing against mine as he spoke. I looked into his sky blue eyes and didn’t hold back my enthusiastic nod. He brushed his lips against mine one last time before guiding me to the waiting car.

The ride to the restaurant was wrought with sexual tension that didn’t dissipate even once we were seated at our table.
